Open Settings Center → Tools and learning → Translation Center, enter text, choose languages and click Translate (⌘ + Enter on Mac, Ctrl + Enter elsewhere).

When you only want to read part of a page, such as a GitHub README, an article body or one comment thread, you don’t have to translate the whole page.
Move the pointer to preview a section, then click to lock the selection. Adjust the range with ↑/↓ or the toolbar after locking, then confirm translation or restoration. Enter confirms during either the preview or a locked selection; Esc or a right-click exits.

The selection card includes 3,000 common English dictionary entries, available offline without a separate download.
Local definitions appear immediately, with translated definitions added afterward. The regular translation appears independently. Online lookup waits at most 2.5 seconds and shows progress in a compact line. Missing entries prompt you to check the spelling and explain that names or new words may be absent. If the dictionary cannot respond, use Retry lookup; the existing translation remains available. The grammar view groups meaningful sentence units and shows their role and word class in the interface language, such as “subject · noun phrase” and “postmodifier · infinitive phrase”. Learning actions show the explanation first. Choose View original in More actions to expand the complete source and its ordinary translation, then Back to current reading to close the comparison.

Choose how translations look in bilingual mode under Settings → Interface style → Translation style.

Enable sentence highlighting and point to a sentence on either side to highlight its counterpart. It helps locate a difficult sentence in a long paragraph.

Enable bilingual selection translation in the extension menu, select a word or passage, and click the nearby icon.
Sentences and passages show the translation first, with the complete original below it for comparison. Card navigation stays on one row; scroll it horizontally or use Tab to reach later learning actions on a narrow card. Dragging, resizing, switching learning views, and streamed answers preserve the position and size you set.
Short learning answers fit their content; long answers scroll within the card. The audio bar takes no space while idle. More tools sit beside the answer, and follow-up questions appear after it; scroll or use Tab to reach them. Changing the interface language preserves the original and translated content.
